Vieira da Silva & Arpad Szenes Foundation:
Set in tranquil gardens and housed in an old silk factory, the Vieira da Silva & Arpad Szenes Foundation was set up in 1994 to promote and exhibit the work of the celebrated Portuguese modernist painter, Maria Helena Vieira da Silva (1908-1992) and her Hungarian painter husband, Arpad Szenes (1897-1985).
In addition to an extensive collection of their work, the building is a regular venue for temporary exhibitions relating to the modernist theme.
