Sé Catedral de Lisboa :
This was ordered built by the first king of Portugal , in the XIIth century, in a romantic style, and it is the only one that remains in the city of Lisbon . It has been partially restored, since it has survived four earthquakes, including the one in 1755, which knocked down its clocktower.
Its grandiose stature is impressive and it was elevated to the status of the metropolitan cathedral by D. João I, in 1393. Its storehouse contains valuabel treasures.
Its interior is a latin cross, with three naves, and there is a basin from the XIIth century in which Santo António was baptized.
