Wind: The “ Nortada” is the wind that sweeps all Portuguese coast during the hot season. In Guincho the power of the Nortada can increase in such an spectacular way that can blow close to 5 times stronger than 3 km more to the south.The direction of the wind is north-northwest; offering a side-on shore direction of sailing.

Waves: Guincho is basically a wave spot; totally opened to the Atlantic power; during the summer and windy the waves go between 0,5 m and 2 meters; offering also some days for slalom or freestyle. The left part of the beach is also a great place when you can surf every morning before the wind or become an alternative for no wind days.

Gear: It's really difficult to can give some advises about wich are the gear you're going to use in Guincho; 4.2; 4.7; 5.2; 5.7; some afternoons with 3.5 and also some days with 6.0 or bigger; Guincho changes a lot we just can tell you that if you come with your car put everything you can inside (including big measures ) if you want to rent the equipment we can give you some advises about how to do it and very soon we hope to can offer you this service and offer you the possibility to reserve your board and sails for your windsurf holidays in
